Mayor Dan Sullivan issued a proclamation declaring it "Chip Davis and Mannheim Steamroller Day" in Anchorage. The proclamation was presented to Chip during the December 28th Christmas concert performance in Anchorage.
This is the first time for the Mannheim Steamroller annual Christmas concert in Alaska. Sold-out performances were held in Fairbanks and Anchorage.

Mannheim Steamroller was a featured performer on "A Fox and Friends Christmas Special" Christmas Eve on the Fox News Network. Chip and Mannheim members played for a studio audience of military members and their families. The special ran several times on Christmas Eve and also on Christmas Day. "A Wild Holiday Home". That's the headline of a Wall Street Journal profile on Chip and unique home in Omaha! Reporter Candace Jackson spent a day interviewing Chip and touring his 150-acre farm. The founder and creator of Mannheim Steamroller "shares it all with a menagerie that includes half a dozen horses, three dogs, two ducks and a pet turkey", she reports.
