3Good music, lacks energy and punch  Mar 24, 2008
I'll preface this by admitting I do like Mannheim Steamroller and the work of Chip Davis. I've actually been to their concerts and enjoy the neoclassical blend.

I enjoyed the music, about 80% of it anyway on this album but as a workout album it's seriously lacking. It's not what I expected, and I'm disappointed.

Perhaps my expectations should be explained, I was sort of expecting hard-hitting music like Flashdance, the theme to Rocky, Olivia Newton-John's "Physical", driving beats with hard percussion and uptempo rhythm musicals.

This album ain't that. It's good music, but if it were the soundtrack to Flashdance the star would be Mrs. Frankenstein. It really moves too slow and is too weighty in the instrumentals for the workout album it claims to be.

I like the album itself as a part of the Mannheim Steamroller collection, but it's not the workout album for me. I could go to sleep with it playing though, and relax.
